Mexican gymnasts head to Artistic Gymnastics World Championships
Mexican gymnasts are set to compete in the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Rotterdam, Netherlands, from October 17 to 25. The delegation includes prominent athletes such as Isaac Nuñez Farfán, who prepared for the event at the ASD Unione Sportiva Renato Serra club in Italy. Nuñez Farfán, a former Pan American Games gold medalist, will be joined by Patricia Jiménez.
The women's team features Victoria Mata, Paulina Guerra, Mariangela Flores, Michelle Pineda, and Jazmyn Jiménez. Mata and Guerra bring recent success from the Central American and Caribbean Games, while Jiménez will be making her World Championship debut.
This edition of the championships is particularly significant as it offers the first opportunities for countries to secure team qualification spots for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. The top three eligible countries in each category will earn a place for a five-member gymnastics team.
