Mexican hydraulic projects await federal funding and authorization

Various hydraulic infrastructure projects in Mexico are currently navigating federal authorization and funding processes. In Sinaloa, the Secretary of Public Works, Raúl Montero Zamudio, announced that a project for a storm collector in northern Guasave is nearly ready to be presented to the National Water Commission (Conagua) to seek federal resources.

Additionally, the Rubí collector and the Bacurimí drain projects have already been submitted and validated by the Ministry of Finance (Hacienda), though they await budget allocation for execution.

In a separate development, the Monterrey VI plan to transport water from the Pánuco River remains without necessary approvals. Raúl Quiroga Álvarez, Tamaulipas Secretary of Hydraulic Resources, noted that the project lacks registration in the Ministry of Finance investment portfolio and has not been authorized by Conagua. He emphasized that because the initiative is over 15 years old, its technical and financial studies require significant updates before it can undergo federal review.
