Mexican Innovation Award winners announced at InnovaFest Querétaro

The Mexican Innovation Award winners were announced during InnovaFest Querétaro, led by Secretary of Economy Marcelo Ebrard. The awards included 3.2 million pesos in economic incentives, along with scholarships and training for inventors and entrepreneurs.

From a pool of 3,106 applications, an evaluation committee selected 100 finalists and ultimately chose 24 winning projects. These winners were divided into three categories: eight early-stage projects, eight advanced-stage projects, and eight outstanding projects. The selected innovations cover diverse fields such as artificial intelligence, efficient water management, advanced manufacturing, and environmental sustainability.

The winning projects represent eight different Mexican states, with the highest concentration of projects coming from Mexico City (five) and Querétaro (four). Other participating states included Nuevo León, Jalisco, Hidalgo, Aguascalientes, Estado de México, and Guanaguato. Ebrard emphasized that domestic technological development is essential for the country's progress.
