Mexican institutions condemn antisemitism in Mexico City
The Mexican Episcopal Conference and the National Council of Advocacy (CONAbogacía) have issued statements condemning recent antisemitic incidents in Mexico City.
The Episcopado Mexicano extended congratulations to the Jewish community for Rosh Hashanah, wishing for peace and hope. In their message, they expressed absolute solidarity and rejected antisemitic manifestations in the capital, stating that no cause justifies such expressions against any people.
Similarly, CONAbogacía expressed firm rejection of antisemitism, discrimination, and hate speech following events on Presidente Masaryk Avenue. The organization emphasized that while freedom of expression is a right, it must not translate into aggression or hostility toward any community. CONAbogacía highlighted the cultural and social contributions of the Jewish community to Mexico and called for a culture of peace and legality.
