Mexican lawmaker Kenia López Rabadán calls for transparent probes following DEA cartel accusations

Kenia López Rabadán, president of the Mexican Chamber of Deputies, said the statements of U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration director Terry Cole must not be minimized. She urged Mexico to launch serious, independent investigations into alleged links between public officials and criminal organizations, citing cases in Baja California and Sinaloa.

López Rabadán stressed that no authority should be above the law, demanding absolute transparency, the end of political protection, and swift sanctions if any ties are proven. She also noted the United States' recent designation of the Juárez and Los Viagras cartels as foreign terrorist organizations, calling it a reminder of the growing pressure on Mexico’s security and bilateral relationship.
