Mexican legislators propose judicial and public service reforms

In Mexico, legislative proposals have been introduced to reform judicial administration and public service benefits. Deputy Alfonso Ramírez Cuéllar, vice-coordinator of the Morena parliamentary group, has called for constitutional and legal reforms to grant greater budgetary and administrative autonomy to federal judicial bodies. This includes the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN), the Electoral Tribunal of the Federal Judiciary (TEPJF), the Judicial Discipline Tribunal (TDJ), and the Judicial Administration Body (OAJ).

The proposal aims to clarify administrative responsibilities and improve coordination within the judiciary without increasing the overall budget, focusing on transparency and accountability.

Separately, in the state of Puebla, Deputy Fedrha Isabel Suriano Corrales has presented an initiative to reform the Life Insurance Law for Public Servants of the Government of the State of Puebla. The proposal seeks to modernize the legal regime, update terminology to include inclusive language, and strengthen institutional mechanisms to ensure that life insurance benefits are effective, accessible, and timely for government employees.
