Mexican legislators seek impeachment proceedings against officials

In Sinaloa, PRI deputy Paola Gárate Valenzuela has called on the State Congress to immediately process an impeachment request against Rubén Rocha Moya. Gárate alleges that Rocha Moya is involved in corruption, opaque contracts, the triangulation of public resources, and links to organized crime. She cited accusations from United States authorities regarding a criminal protection network and noted observations from the Superior Auditor of the Federation (ASF) concerning public works and resource management.

In Nuevo León, legislators from the PRI and PAN are also seeking to reactivate an impeachment process against Governor Samuel García. This request follows ASF findings regarding the alleged triangulation of public funds to offices linked to the governor and his family. While the case is currently in the evidence-gathering stage, its progression to the full Congress remains suspended due to judicial measures. PAN coordinator Carlos de la Fuente has also called for a criminal investigation into the alleged financial irregularities.
