Mexican local officials deny corruption and sexual abuse allegations
Tenancingo mayor Nancy Nápoles Pacheco rejected accusations that she was involved in a 40‑million‑peso embezzlement, stating “el dinero está en el municipio” and insisting the funds can be accounted for. The case remains under investigation by the State of Mexico’s prosecutor’s office, which is reviewing the alleged shortfall.
Toluca municipal secretary Justo Núñez Skinfill also denied a report that he had sexually assaulted a communicator during a local festival. Toluca’s mayor, Ricardo Moreno Bastida, said the allegation is unfounded and that the municipal government will cooperate with authorities while ensuring due process.
Both officials characterized the claims as false and pledged to defend their reputations as investigations continue.
