Enrique Galindo urges PRI unity to regain San Luis Potosí ahead of 2027 elections

Mayor Enrique Galindo Ceballos addressed a gathering of PRI members in San Luis Potosí, stressing that unity is the only path for the party to compete and recover the state’s political direction. He called militants to revisit neighborhoods and communities to rebuild ties with citizens and to organize a broad, territorial campaign for the 2027 elections. Galindo emphasized, “No hay otra manera de ganar, no hay otra manera de competir, no hay otra manera de presentarnos a las siguientes elecciones si no estamos unidos.”

The event also featured tributes to long‑standing PRI figures such as Teófilo Torres Corzo, Victoria Labastida and Jesús Ramírez Stabros. In a separate political act, Galindo was accompanied by former PRI officials, reviving the debate over the “herencia maldita” – a term used by critics to describe past administrations accused of corruption and stagnation. Supporters argued the gathering seeks to restore the party’s influence ahead of the next gubernatorial succession, while opponents view it as a resurgence of an outdated political bloc.
