Mexican minors receive refuge following repatriation from the United States
Mexican nationals are being repatriated from the United States, including a recent group of 103 individuals arriving at the Campeche International Airport from El Paso, Texas. Among those repatriated were five minors; three arrived without family members and have been placed under the care of the State DIF in the María Palmira Lavalle shelter while authorities work to locate their relatives.
In Quintana Roo, the Casa del Migrante in Cancún is providing refuge and support to children and adolescents arriving via the Tulum International Airport. While most of the minors are Mexican—primarily from states such as Chiapas, Tabasco, and Oaxaca—the shelter also assists adolescents from Brazil, Cuba, Guatemala, and El Salvador. The facility has a capacity for 50 minors and works to facilitate family reunification as authorities assess each case to ensure safe reunions.
