Mexican Monsoon brings heavy rain to Sinaloa and Sonora

The Mexican Monsoon and atmospheric instability are bringing significant rainfall to northwest Mexico. In Sinaloa, the State Civil Protection Institute has warned of moderate to heavy rains expected in the southern region, particularly in Escuinapa, where accumulations could reach 25 to 50 millimeters. Other municipalities including San Ignacio, Mazatlán, Concordia, and Rosario are expected to see moderate rainfall.

In Sonora, showers are anticipated due to the monsoon and an upper-level trough. While rainfall distribution may be irregular, the southeast of the state is forecasted to receive strong rains between 25 and 50 millimeters on Friday. Despite the precipitation, temperatures in Sonora are expected to remain high, with maximums ranging between 35 and 40 °C. Similar weather patterns are affecting Baja California, Baja California Sur, and parts of Chihuahua and Durango.
