Mexican municipal governments roll out local aid programs in Torreón and Chihuahua

In Torreón, the local branch of the DIF (National System for Integral Family Development) partnered with OSC to distribute piggy banks for the Teletón 2026 fundraiser. Officials highlighted the collaboration to support people with disabilities and families needing rehabilitation services. Selina Bremer de Cepeda, honorary president of DIF Torreón, said, "Cada aportación cuenta y representa una oportunidad para transformar vidas."

In the Chihuahua municipalities of El Charco and El Vallecillo, mayor Marco Bonilla delivered livestock feed, laptops, functional devices for people with disabilities, and infrastructure projects worth more than 10.6 million pesos. The projects include the expansion of a multi‑purpose hall, a new classroom for the CREI Martín López, solar‑powered water wells, and road paving, aimed at improving rural livelihoods amid drought conditions.
