Mexican municipal leaders prioritize public works and citizen services

Local government officials in Mexico are highlighting infrastructure improvements and citizen engagement initiatives. In Mazatlán, Mayor Estrella Palacios Domínguez emphasized the importance of the ‘Contigo Mazatlán’ program, which facilitates direct interaction with residents in both urban and rural areas to address needs such as drainage and street paving. She noted that through tripartite cooperation between different levels of government, approximately 23 million pesos have been invested in drainage rehabilitation in 2026.

In Guadalupe, Mayor Pepe Saldívar has reinforced public service capabilities by delivering new operational vehicles to the Public Works and Public Services departments. These resources are intended to accelerate responses to citizen reports regarding pothole repair, public space cleaning, and street lighting maintenance. The administration is currently managing an average of 30 daily lighting reports and conducting extensive road repairs across various neighborhoods and communities.
