Mexican municipal leaders roll out road and water infrastructure projects
Atlixco mayor Ariadna Ayala held a historic town‑council session in the El Cerril neighborhood, marking the first meeting outside the municipal palace in the city's 445‑year history. The session culminated in the municipalization of the El Cerril subdivision, granting legal certainty to hundreds of families, and the launch of the first public works project there—a road resurfacing covering more than 5,000 square metres and benefiting roughly 3,500 residents with a budget exceeding five million pesos.
In the neighboring state of Hidalgo, Ajacuba municipal president Zitlaly Zúñiga announced a series of new drainage and potable‑water works. The projects, coordinated with the state government, include the replacement of dozens of water‑line sections and sanitary‑drainage upgrades across several streets, aiming to improve basic services for local families.
Both initiatives reflect the administrations’ focus on expanding essential infrastructure and strengthening community welfare.
