Córdoba, Mexico officials receive public aid as key road remains blocked

Five municipal agents and subagents in Córdoba were granted subsidies ranging from 2,840 to 15,000 pesos by the city council, raising concerns about a conflict of interest since they are responsible for public works and services.

The community of Agustín Millán, whose main access road to San Pedro collapsed in July 2025 after heavy rains, remains isolated. The 220‑metre stretch is still impassable, affecting over 3,000 families and serving as an alternate route to the Hospital General, Clínica 61 of IMSS and Cobaev Plantel 12. Authorities have only placed warning tape, while public lighting on the main street stays out of service.
