Mexican municipal police face allegations of resource misuse and animal‑dragging incident

Residents of Metepec claim the municipal police have been used to protect a private business linked to mayor Fernando Flores Fernández, alleging diversion of public resources and possible criminal liability for misuse of authority, embezzlement and abuse of power.

In a separate case, municipal police detained a man accused of dragging an animal in a public street, placing him before a civil judge for a suspected administrative violation while the animal‑protection unit continues its investigation.
