Mexican municipalities host integrated service fairs for rural families

The municipal governments of Meoqui in Chihuahua and Cuatro Ciénegas in Coahuila organized community service fairs aimed at delivering civil‑registry, health, and welfare assistance to residents of rural neighborhoods. In Meoqui, Mayor Miriam Soto oversaw a fair that included a mobile civil‑registry unit, medical consultations, nutritional advice, a mobile health unit, and pet‑vaccination services, marking the start of a program that will travel to 20 priority municipalities in the state. In Cuatro Ciénegas, Mayor Víctor Leija Vega coordinated a similar event in the Tanque Nuevo ejido, offering workshops on self‑esteem, micro‑enterprise (including a jewelry‑making workshop), and public‑health guidance on responsible pet ownership and tick prevention.

Both fairs emphasized the local authorities’ commitment to bringing essential services—birth, marriage and death registrations, primary health care, and community‑development training—to remote populations, thereby improving access to identity documents and health resources.
