Mexican municipalities launch community programs for children and youth

Municipal authorities in Mexico are implementing various community programs focused on child development and youth engagement.

In Soledad de Graciano Sánchez, the Municipal System for Integral Family Development (DIF) has opened enrollment for the Capullito I and Capullito II childcare centers. These facilities provide comprehensive care, pedagogical activities, and a secure environment for children starting at one year of age, specifically designed to support working parents. María del Pilar Cardona Reyna, President of the Municipal DIF, noted that the centers focus on cognitive and emotional development through structured recreational and educational programs.

Meanwhile, in San Pedro Cholula, the “Entre Aves” summer course recently concluded with 350 children and youths participating. Coordinated by the local Sports Directorate, the program included activities such as swimming, soccer, basketball, volleyball, taekwondo, and boxing. Mayor Tonantzin Fernández attended the closing ceremony, highlighting the program's role in fostering discipline and teamwork among the local youth.
