Mexican municipalities launch infrastructure and road works

Municipal governments in Mexico are advancing various infrastructure projects to improve urban mobility and pedestrian safety.

In Tlaxcoapan, Hidalgo, Mayor Teresa Olivares Reyna launched the construction of sidewalks and curbs on Arnulfo Morel Street. The project, costing 1,035,500 pesos, aims to benefit 923 people, specifically targeting improved access for students at the C.B.T.I.S. 218 and visitors to the local Casa de Día. The work includes over 857 square meters of sidewalk and nearly 693 linear meters of concrete curbing.

In Toluca, Estado de México, the renovation of Camino al Refugio has reached 72 percent completion. Led by Mayor Ricardo Moreno, the project aims to connect four delegations—Santiago Tlacotepec, Capultitlán, San Juan Tilapa, and Cacalomacán—reducing travel times for over 20,000 residents. The comprehensive work involves repaving over 8,500 square meters of road, leveling manholes to prevent flooding, constructing new sidewalks, and installing a lighting system consisting of 66 posts and 82 luminaires.
