Mexican municipalities launch youth engagement initiatives

Municipal governments in Mexico are launching initiatives to promote youth participation and leadership.

In Huauchinango, the local government held the “Youth Forum” to mark International Youth Day. The event included workshops on art, culture, and sports, as well as the appointment of Youth Liaisons to serve as communication bridges between local authorities and young residents. Local youth from the Xaltepec community also shared testimonies regarding their indigenous roots.

In Chihuahua, the municipal government inaugurated “Youth Night 2026,” kicking off a month of activities for citizens aged 16 to 29. The program includes social gatherings, music, and various courses and workshops designed to strengthen the connection between the youth population and local government officials.
