Mexican municipalities prepare for increased vendor activity during Fiestas Patrias

Municipalities in Mexico are preparing for increased commercial activity during the upcoming Fiestas Patrias celebrations. In Soledad de Graciano Sánchez, San Luis Potosí, the local government is organizing the installation of approximately 250 vendors in the main plaza. These merchants will offer food, clothing, sweets, and patriotic items for the September 15 and 16 festivities.

In Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas, requests for street vendor permits have increased by 20 percent, primarily driven by interest in selling items related to the Grito de Independencia. Local authorities have noted that not all requests will be approved to prevent overcrowding in the city center. Officials are coordinating with state government to manage space distribution and are monitoring for unauthorized vendors to maintain order and protect established businesses.
