Mexican municipalities promote youth sports through events and equipment

Local government initiatives in Mexico are focusing on youth sports and physical activity. In Metepec, the Municipal Institute of Physical Culture and Sport (IMCUFIDEM) has announced the MetepeKids 2026 race. Scheduled for September 13, the event targets children and adolescents aged 4 to 15, including a category for people with disabilities. The race will take place at the Town Square Metepec commercial plaza, featuring distances ranging from 100 to 2,000 meters.

In Delicias, the Municipal Institute of Sport and Youth (INMUDEJ) has distributed sports equipment to schools in the Laderas del Norte sector, specifically the Juan Rulfo primary school and Gabriel Teporaca preschool. The donation included basketball, soccer, volleyball, and flag football balls, along with training tools like cones and coordination ladders. The initiative aims to strengthen physical education classes and utilizes a synthetic grass court built through joint federal, state, and municipal investment.
