Mexican national charged with sexual assault on Mackinac Island

Carlos Adrian Fernandez De Lara Jaimez, a 30-year-old Mexican national, has been arrested and charged with second-degree criminal sexual conduct with personal injury following an incident on Mackinac Island, Michigan.

The assault occurred around 2:15 a.m. on September 16, when a woman walking alone on Main Street was allegedly forced to the ground and assaulted. The victim was treated at the Mackinac Island Medical Center. Jaimez was identified as the suspect and booked into the Mackinac County Jail. He was arraigned on September 18, and a judge set his bond at $100,000, with the condition that he surrender his passport.
