Mexican National Judo Team prepares for National Championship in Querétaro
The Mexican National Judo Team is undergoing intensive training at the Villas Tlalpan and CNAR facilities in preparation for the ‘Daniel F. Hernández’ 2026 National Championship. The event is scheduled to take place in Querétaro from October 15 to 18.
Athletes from the top-tier, Sub-18, and Sub-21 categories, along with preselected judokas from various states, are participating in the training sessions. Managed by the Mexican Judo Federation (FMJ), the program includes varying workloads of one to three sessions per day, with a recent focus on physical conditioning and randori (practice combat).
The championship serves as a critical filter for renewing the national team as athletes aim for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic cycle. Notable competitors include Paulina Martínez, a Paris 2024 Olympian, and Robin Jara, both of whom are targeting international success in Grand Prix and Pan American competitions to secure Olympic qualification.
