Mexican national on the run after ramming ICE vehicle in Harrisburg, PA

Around 6:15 a.m. on Wednesday in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, ICE agents attempted to detain Clemente Lara‑Hernandez, a Mexican citizen with prior assault, hit‑and‑run and domestic‑violence convictions. He allegedly used his car as a weapon, ramming an ICE vehicle and then driving the wrong way on a one‑way street, where he also collided with a civilian car.

During the confrontation an ICE officer discharged his weapon, wounding another officer in the hand; no other injuries were reported. The suspect fled the scene and remains at large, with the FBI leading the investigation. ICE officials cited a dramatic rise in assaults, vehicular attacks and death threats against their officers nationwide.

The incident has prompted renewed concerns over officer safety in immigration enforcement operations.
