Mexico national football team to play Nations League quarter-final in Monterrey
The Mexican national football team will play the second leg of the Concacaf Nations League quarter-finals at Estadio BBVA in Monterrey on Tuesday, November 17, 2026. This marks the team's first official match at the venue and their return to the state of Nuevo León after an eight-year absence.
Managed by Rafael Márquez, the defending champions qualified directly for this round by finishing among the top four teams in Liga A. The opponent for the knockout tie will be determined following the conclusion of the current FIFA international window.
The decision to host the match in Monterrey follows the unavailability of Mexico City's Estadio Banorte, which is scheduled to host an NFL game between the San Francisco 49ers and the Minnesota Vikings on November 22. This fixture will serve as the final official match for the Mexican national team in 2026.
