Mexican Navy conducts maritime rescue operations in Yucatán

The Mexican Navy (Semar), through the Ninth Naval Zone, has been conducting maritime rescue and search operations in the state of Yucatán.

In Yucalpetén, naval personnel provided assistance to three crew members of a small vessel that lost propulsion due to mechanical failure. Using a Defender-type vessel, the Navy towed the boat to the Yucalpetén Port Captaincy to ensure the safety of the crew.

In a separate incident near Dzilam de Bravo, a search operation was launched after a fisherman accidentally fell into the sea from the vessel “Nereo XXI.” An interceptor patrol and a Defender vessel from the Maritime Search, Rescue, and Surveillance Naval Station (ENSARYUK) have been deployed to the area. The operation faces challenges as the crew was unable to provide exact coordinates or the specific time of the accident.
