Mexican Navy conducts separate rescue operations

The Mexican Secretariat of the Navy (SEMAR) has carried out two distinct rescue operations involving migrants and a missing person.

In the first incident, naval units rescued six migrants—two from Guatemala and four from Ecuador—traveling in a fishing boat approximately 274 kilometers southeast of the coast of Puerto Chiapas. The individuals were reportedly being trafficked toward the United States. Following the rescue, they were transferred to the Twenty-Second Naval Zone and handed over to the National Institute of Migration (INM) for legal processing.

In a separate operation, SEMAR personnel conducted an aerial search and rescue in the Sierra de Juárez area of Ensenada. A male employee of the Mexican Geological Service, who had been missing since August 12, was located after losing communication. A Black Hawk helicopter was deployed to perform a rapid extraction via sling to transport the injured individual to naval medical services.
