Mexican officials face allegations of corruption and administrative irregularities
In San Miguel Xoxtla, Aidé Pérez Marín, the councilwoman for Public Education and Cultural, Sports, and Social Activities, has been suspended from her duties. The suspension follows allegations of abuse of functions and patrimonial damage involving the alleged loss of 84 toy cars, valued at approximately 2,275.92 pesos. Pérez Marín claims the procedure is politically motivated due to her support for local water rights groups. She stated that she had used her own resources to rent office space when her official office was being used as a warehouse and that she had notified the Comptroller's Office during the transfer of the toys. She has filed an injunction to review the legality of the procedure.
In Córdoba, Veracruz, teachers are demanding an investigation into Irene Sedas González, the city's sole syndic. The allegations involve her previous management of the State Telesecundarias Department, including claims of influence peddling, irregular job assignments to relatives, and discretionary management of resources and school stores. Complainants have called for an audit by the Specialized Prosecutor's Office in Combating Corruption to investigate the allocation of positions and outstanding debts affecting educational workers.
