Mexican officials investigated for concealed property donations and ranch acquisitions

In the municipality of Zinacantepec, the municipal syndic María Félix González filed 22 complaints alleging that the mayor, Manuel Vilchis Viveros, the town secretary Gabriel Valdez Albarrán and the treasurer Oscar Bernal Torres concealed donation contracts for 19 real‑estate assets. The complaints, which cite administrative and criminal responsibility, were submitted to state and municipal oversight bodies, including the State Attorney General and the municipal and state audit offices.

In Yucatán, the National Action Party (PAN) has demanded that Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena explain the acquisition of several ranches in Tizimín, arguing that the purchases far exceed his declared income. PAN called for a complete, public asset declaration and warned that the lack of transparency raises concerns of illicit enrichment and accountability.
