Cuernavaca bar shooting leaves two dead, five injured

During the early hours of Sunday, gunmen opened fire on a newly opened bar on Otilio Montaño Street in the Alta Vista neighborhood of Cuernavaca, Morelos. The assault resulted in two fatalities—Ángel, 22, and Óscar, 25—and five people with serious injuries who were taken to the Hospital General de Cuernavaca.

Police and emergency services arrived after neighbors reported the shooting, but found only bloodstains and shell casings at the scene. The victims were transported to the hospital on their own; two later died from head and abdominal wounds. The remaining five patients remain in critical condition.

Local authorities have not identified the shooters or established a motive. Municipal police secured the premises and began an investigation, while state and federal officials have yet to issue an official statement.
