Mexican police detain suspect in Oaxaca drug raid and arrest man for violent Oxxo robbery

In Santa María Peñoles, Oaxaca, state prosecutors executed a search warrant that led to the arrest of an individual identified by the initials J.R.R. and the seizure of a shotgun, a revolver, ammunition, and bags containing a white granular substance believed to be a drug. The operation was carried out by the Viceprosecutor’s Office, the State Investigation Agency, the National Defense Ministry, and the State Police with canine support.

In Cananea, Sonora, authorities linked Jesús Rafael N. to a violent robbery at an OXXO convenience store on May 17. The suspect brandished a knife, threatened an employee, and stole 394 pesos before fleeing. A judge ordered his preventive detention while the case proceeds through the criminal justice system.
