Mexican political figures announce resignations from PRD and PAN

In Mexico, two political figures have announced their departures from their respective parties. Cecy Ocampo, president of the civil society organization Movimiento Nueva Aztlán, resigned from the PRD in Mexico City. She criticized the party as a "cascarón vacío" (empty shell) lacking a social project and accused leaders of seeking party prerogatives rather than serving the people. Ocampo stated she will continue her community work in the Cuauhtémoc borough, focusing on issues such as housing, gentrification, and food costs.

Separately, Octavio Pedroza Gaitán announced his retirement from politics and his departure from the Acción Nacional party after 33 years of membership. Describing his decision as "Un paso de lado" (A step aside), Pedroza Gaitán stated that his cycle in public service has concluded. He noted that his decision followed months of reflection and emphasized that he is leaving without resentment or confrontation, expressing satisfaction with his 23 years of public service.
