Mexican Professionals Cite Flexible Work as Key to Skill Growth
A joint study by WeWork and Michael Page found that 96 % of Mexican professionals believe flexible work arrangements have strengthened core competencies such as self‑management, autonomy, effective communication and adaptability. The research, released on 9 July 2026, links these gains to the rise of artificial intelligence and automation, which are expected to reshape 22 % of jobs by 2030.
The survey also shows that 57 % of Mexican workers prefer a hybrid model, citing reduced commuting time, better work‑life balance and higher perceived productivity. Employers are increasingly viewing flexibility not merely as a perk but as a strategic tool for talent development, especially as 40 % of required skills are projected to change dramatically due to AI.
“Cuando las personas organizan su tiempo con autonomía, colaboran con equipos distribuidos y se adaptan a nuevos retos, los modelos laborales flexibles aceleran ese aprendizaje,” said Claudio Hidalgo, WeWork’s Latin America president.
