Mexican public universities announce enrollment and health screening for new students

The Universidad Autónoma de Baja California Sur (UABCS) will open its enrollment period for admitted students for the 2026‑II semester from August 3 to August 7. Prospective students must complete online forms for an institutional email account, student insurance and contribution sheets, then submit required documentation either in person for on‑campus programs or online for distance‑learning courses. A university fair will be held during the document‑submission days to provide information on services, scholarships, cultural and sports activities, and medical care.

At the Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez (UACJ), a comprehensive medical examination for new entrants will take place between July 27 and July 31. The exam includes vital‑sign measurements, oral health, blood tests for glucose, cholesterol, triglycerides, blood type, RPR and optional HIV testing, as well as anthropometry, vision, and physical‑conditioning assessments. Results are recorded in a digital file accessible to students, and a physician provides diagnosis and health‑promotion recommendations. Dr. José Alonso Velasco Silveyra, subdirector of Universidad Saludable, highlighted the importance of early detection of conditions such as pre‑diabetes and hypertension among the student population.
