Mexican Rural Communities Celebrate Heritage with Annual Horse Parades

Hundreds of families, riders and local officials gathered in Puerto Vallarta's Llano de la Palma Sola to mark more than 80 years of the traditional Paseadas de Las Palmas. Representative Ra Aguilar toured the site, meeting community leaders such as Ejido president David Morales and Charros group representative Karina Urtiaga, emphasizing the event’s role in preserving local identity.

In the neighboring municipality of Progreso, the ejido Mota de Corona held its 86th anniversary cabalgata. Mayor Federico Quintanilla Arana praised participants, and the celebration was led by Reina Lucía I. Over a hundred riders rode through the community, accompanied by live music, food and prizes, reinforcing social cohesion and cultural continuity.

Both festivals highlight the importance of equestrian traditions in Mexico’s rural areas, drawing large crowds and reinforcing a sense of belonging across generations.
