Mexican search collectives intensify efforts to locate missing persons

Search collectives in Mexico are intensifying efforts to locate missing persons through various regional actions. In Zacatecas, families have expressed concerns regarding a newly approved State Disappearance Law, arguing that while it recognizes their participation, it lacks sufficient autonomy and direct resources for families.

In Tamaulipas, the Amor por los Desaparecidos collective has launched a massive dissemination campaign, placing search bulletins in public squares and pedestrian bridges across municipalities like Nuevo Laredo and Ciudad Victoria. These efforts include reviewing prison records and forensic services to identify unknown remains.

In the Yucatan Peninsula, over 60 mothers from Quintana Roo traveled to Peto, Yucatan, to distribute flyers and seek information at rehabilitation centers and hospitals. These searches are being conducted with the support of the Mexican Army and local prosecutor offices to increase the visibility of their missing loved ones.
