Mexican security agencies launch school prevention programs

Security agencies in Mexico are implementing educational programs in schools to promote safety and crime prevention among students.

In Tijuana, the Baja California State Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSCBC) conducted workshops for over 700 students at Technical Secondary Schools 46 and 33. These sessions focused on digital security, addressing risks such as cyberbullying, identity theft, phishing, and electronic fraud. The initiative aims to provide students with tools to recognize warning signs and protect personal data when interacting online.

In Ciudad Juárez, the Municipal Public Security Secretariat is using interactive theater to engage younger children. Through a program called ‘Teatrino,’ police officers use characters and stories to teach children about self-care, identifying risk situations, and following safety instructions from parents and teachers. This strategy is designed to build trust between law enforcement and the youth while promoting safer environments.
