Mexican security forces capture suspects and seize weapons in Chihuahua and Guerrero

On June 28, a joint operation by the Mexican Army and the Federal Prosecutor’s Office in the Altaria VI neighbourhood of Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, resulted in the capture of six individuals identified as Alejandro S. D., Adriana V. C., Natalia S. V., Ricardo G. V., Marisela G. C., and Patricia F. F. Authorities seized a 9 mm pistol with a 14‑round magazine, a short‑barrel .380 firearm with six rounds, and 107 .380 cartridges.

Separately, the Guerrero state security agencies reported that from June 22 to June 28 they detained 32 people for offenses including homicide, kidnapping, extortion and drug‑related crimes. The operation also led to the seizure of five long guns, six short firearms, 16 magazines, 279 cartridges, 231 knives, multiple vehicles, and over 1 kg of various illicit substances, alongside significant financial losses for criminal groups. The state prosecutor opened 103 investigations and secured 23 convictions during the period.
