Mexican Senate approves military delegation for Brazil competition

The Mexican Senate's National Defense Commission has approved a decree authorizing the departure of a military delegation to participate in the “Desafío Agulhas Negras” international competition. The event is scheduled to take place from September 13 to 19, 2026, at the Agulhas Negras Military Academy in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The delegation from the Heroic Military College will consist of 13 members: one leader, one officer, and 11 cadets. The group will travel via commercial flights and will not carry any weaponry. Following the event, the Secretariat of National Defense is required to submit a report on the results to the Senate within 30 days.

The competition is a sporting event involving personnel from eight military institutions from Brazil and other nations. Its objectives include fostering international cooperation, strengthening ties between armed forces, and promoting the exchange of knowledge regarding leadership, discipline, teamwork, and tactical skills.
