Mexican Senate to request CFE report on Tabasco energy outages
The Energy Commission of the Mexican Senate will request a detailed report from the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) regarding energy outages in Tabasco. Senator Óscar Cantón Zetina proposed the request, noting that power interruptions have affected both urban and rural areas, impacting health, education, and productive activities.
While the CFE has indicated it has a program to address these needs, the Senate seeks to understand the specific scope, characteristics, and reasons behind these interruptions, which may be linked to weather phenomena such as heavy rain and wind. The Energy Commission President, Beatriz Robles Gutiérrez, supported the request and suggested addressing the issue during upcoming official hearings in October to review regional investments and infrastructure works.
