Mexican Senator meets with OnlyFans representatives to discuss regulation

Emmanuel Reyes Carmona, a Morena senator and president of the Senate Economy Commission, met with representatives from OnlyFans to discuss the regulation of digital platforms in Mexico. The representatives traveled from England for the meeting.

The discussions focused on four primary areas: the protection of personal data for both users and creators, digital security within the platform, the rights of individuals who generate income through digital services, and the implementation of restrictions to prevent access by minors and combat exploitation.

Reyes Carmona stated that the Economy Commission will continue to promote meetings with various digital companies to understand new market dynamics and analyze the rules applicable in Mexico. While the meeting aimed to address legal and technical challenges, it drew criticism on social media due to the nature of the platform's primary business model.
