Mexican State and Guatemalan Health Department Distribute Hearing Aids to Hundreds and Seven People

The State Government of Chihuahua, Mexico, through its DIF agency, began a multi‑city distribution of 1,385 hearing‑aid devices and 877 adapted lenses. The first deliveries took place in Ciudad Juárez, followed by Ascensión, Guerrero, Bocoyna, Bahuichivo and the capital, where 368 items were handed out. Specialists performed on‑site adjustments and vision tests to ensure proper fit for beneficiaries across urban and rural areas.

In Totonicapán, Guatemala, the Departmental Health Network, in partnership with the non‑profit Fundación Sonrisas que se Escuchan, provided a specialized CROS hearing system to seven people with auditory disabilities. Beneficiaries were selected via open calls, evaluated by audiologists, and the devices were donated through coordination with the Ministry of Public Health and Social Assistance. The initiative aims to increase access to high‑cost hearing technology for people who cannot afford it.
