Mexican state and municipal leaders back charitable programs for children with disabilities

Deputies of the Durango State Congress joined a livestock auction organized by the state DIF to raise funds for the Casa Hogar del DIF, a shelter for vulnerable children. Participants, including Governor Esteban Villegas Villarreal and DIF president Ernesto Alanís Herrera, donated a motorcycle and purchased auction items, directly supporting the shelter’s operations.

In Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo, Mayor Blanca Merari Tziu Muñoz signed a collaboration agreement with the civil association Equinos Contigo. The partnership will provide free equine‑assisted therapy to roughly 90 local children with disabilities, using specially trained horses to improve physical, emotional, cognitive and social development. The mayor highlighted the joint effort to promote inclusive, humane services for all children in the municipality.
