Mexican State of Morelos and Colombia Advance Digital Mobility Initiatives

The government of the Mexican state of Morelos has added 363 digitally mapped public‑transport routes to Google Maps, covering about 86% of metropolitan trips. The integration, carried out by the Coordination General of Mobility and Transport and the State Digital Transformation Agency, allows users to view routes, stops and plan journeys from any mobile device.

Colombia’s Ministry of Transport has released a draft regulation to govern electric scooters, bikes, monopeds and similar micromobility devices. The proposal requires brakes, front and rear lights, reflectors, a sound signalling device and a certified helmet. Speed limits are set at 25 km/h in urban areas and 40 km/h outside cities, with an identification plate to become mandatory on 1 January 2027. Public comments are accepted until 9 July.
