Mexican State Officials Investigated for Embezzlement and Judicial Misconduct

Leticia Gómez Ordaz, head of a state health secretariat, said the state attorney general will decide how to proceed in a criminal case involving the alleged misappropriation of more than 32 million pesos during a previous administration. The former health secretary, Miguel Ángel Lutzow Steiner, was previously acquitted of abuse of office related to the same funds, and the investigation remains pending.

In a separate case, Judge Lizbeth González Cortés of the Third District Court in Zacatecas was suspended by the Judicial Discipline Tribunal following complaints of alleged administrative misconduct, including the purported use of artificial‑intelligence tools to draft rulings. The suspension is a precautionary measure while the disciplinary investigation continues.
