Mexican states launch expanded women‑support programs

The government of Yucatán is scaling up an integrated strategy for women's protection and empowerment, aiming to reach all 106 municipalities. The plan adds 45 free‑access centres in 43 municipalities that provide legal aid, psychological support and economic‑autonomy services, while expanding a network of safe‑space stores and community promoters. In parallel, Michoacán’s Secretariat of Equality continues registration for the "Jalo por las Mamás" scheme, which supplies free diapers to low‑income families. The program has already distributed more than 61,600 diapers and recorded over 5,000 registrations across municipalities such as Morelia, Uruapan and Charo. Both initiatives are part of broader state efforts to reduce gender‑based violence, improve economic security for women and enhance access to social services.
