Mexican states launch sports tryouts for 2027 competitions

Mexican states Puebla and Tamaulipas have announced talent scouting processes to form athletic selections for upcoming major competitions.

Puebla is launching tryouts to assemble its women's softball state team for the Orgullo Nacional 2027 tournament. The evaluations, scheduled for October 9 at the Universidad del Deporte, are aimed at athletes aged 19 to 21. The process will be supervised by national team players Fernanda Mata and Narda Andrade.

In Tamaulipas, the Institute of Sports (INDE) is initiating a multi-sport scouting program to prepare for the 2027 National Olympics. Starting October 9 and running through November 15, the tryouts will cover basketball, handball, volleyball, and softball across various municipalities, including Ciudad Madero, Matamoros, Ciudad Victoria, and Reynosa. The program includes both male and female categories across several age divisions.
