Mexican Taekwondo delegation wears unofficial football-inspired kits
The Mexican Taekwondo Federation (FMTKD) provided its delegation with shirts that closely resemble the design intended for the Mexican national football team for the 2026 World Cup. The garments feature elements of the Adidas-designed kit, including a background inspired by the Sun Stone (Aztec Calendar), but include “Taekwondo México” branding instead of the football federation's crest. Athletes were reportedly instructed to cover the Adidas logo with a “Poomsae” patch.
Reports indicate these shirts are not official Adidas products. While the delegation is competing in the Poomsae World Championship in Chuncheon, South Korea, under World Taekwondo (WT) regulations, the athletes use standard doboks during actual competition.
During the championship, held from September 16 to 20, Mexican athlete Miguel Ángel Moreno Gómez secured a silver medal in the U17 Men's Individual Freestyle category.
