Mexican Technical Institutes Boost Adult Literacy and Student Transition Programs

The TecNM Institute of Tijuana, together with the National Institute for Adult Education (INEA) and the Tijuana Human Resources Association (ARHITAC), held an evaluation session on 27 June during which 70 adults sat for primary or secondary certification exams. The program, delivered through student‑run social service, aims to reduce educational lag in the region and improve participants’ personal and professional prospects.

In Culiacán, the Instituto Tecnológico de Culiacán (ITC) and the Colegio de Estudios Científicos y Tecnológicos del Estado de Sinaloa (CECyTE Sinaloa) met to review their Collaboration Agreement on student transition. They outlined a work plan to begin in August 2026 that will directly benefit about 200 fourth‑, fifth‑, and sixth‑semester students in alternative energy and programming tracks across several CECyTE campuses. The initiative seeks to broaden academic opportunities and strengthen preparation for higher education in the region.
